I had my doubts until I unpacked it, put it in the sink and then put in the heaviest pot/pan I could find (a cast iron pan). My observations on the WOW FACTOR: - First, the grate is thick stainless steel - Second, the design has bumpers on ALL places that come in contact with the surface of the sink (sides and legs) - Then the legs are placed along the sink surface. in the middle instead of on the sides, with 8 contact points instead of 4 or 6 like other products. - Easy to lift to clean the floor without completely removing it from the sink. Overall, the design is carefully considered for durability under heavy use with light or heavy objects. I firmly believe this will last a lifetime. It's worth the cost whether you're paying $12 for a used one or $35 for a new one. You won't regret it and it will keep the sink free of dents and scratches (which is why I bought it). runoff slope.
