UPDATED 14-Feb-21: I originally gave this iron 5 stars, but I have to deduct 2 stars because it has the same issue, about the others in their reviews have said: constantly switches off! At first I thought I accidentally turned it off, but no, it just turns itself off. Sometimes I don't realize it's off until I do a few swipes and then have to repeat it. I have to constantly monitor the power supply to make sure it's on. It's just not normal. I still like the straightener, but I find it very annoying. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have long been dissatisfied with my hair straightener but couldn't find one that I thought was worth trying, especially after trying the expensive OMS which was so awful I sent it back. I've used HSI for the last few years but when I had to replace my original the replacement was just so-so. I lived with that for a couple of years and thought maybe all irons just sucked. I'm the type of guy who likes my hair to last a few days, but I have thin hair that's terribly frizzy at the back and can't be straightened out the second day. Or so I thought. I bought this straightener on the recommendation of a colleague who has super straight hair every day. I thought considering the price it was definitely worth it. I'm so glad I tried it! I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's by far the best flat iron I've ever had. I can straighten my hair through the hair in ONE PASS which really cuts straightening time. This made me realize that it took me multiple passes through my hair to get mediocre results with my HSI. It also has a longer iron so I can straighten large sections of hair at once. It also doesn't pull my hair like Chi does; it just glides over it. It straightens my hair so well that I also feel like the moisture doesn't bother it as much as it used to, and the best part is that the second day MY HAIR IS STILL STRAIGHT - no horrible frizz! One quick pass to straighten my hair and my hair is ready for the next day! Another feature I like is the adjustable temperature setting. Since I have fine hair, I don't need full heat, which I couldn't regulate with Qi. For reference, I used it at 15 (out of 30). The only thing I can't speak to is the durability of this iron as I bought it a few weeks ago. I hope this lasts long. However, if you are hesitant to buy this iron, just grab it! You will not regret it!
