Review on OUCG8D-380H-A Key Fob Replacement - Compatible with Honda Accord & Element - 2Pcs Set by Joseph Whiteman

Very expensive, annoying and generally very difficult!

Only 2 stars for not stating that the key would not start the car even after being cut and programmed! Also, only certain locksmiths can make the key, and that's expensive! I tried going to several places where keys couldn't be cut. I even went to a Honda dealer who told me they can only cut/program keys bought direct from them. One day I finally found a locksmith with the right cutting machine and paid $75 to have two keys cut. The locksmith told me that I would probably need to program the transponder chips inside as well. They told me I might be able to program the remote (which I did) but they said they had never seen anyone able to program the internal chip. So they said he wouldn't start the car unless the chip was also programmed by someone with equipment and know-how like them ($80 more!). Now I'm stuck going back to the same locksmith to program the internal chips. What a problem!

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Socket required
