Wanted to love it but. both items are rubbish

I took this at face value because, hey, digital infrared right? I had to test an induction cooktop and decided to kill two birds with one stone. After bringing a pot of water to a boil and letting it simmer for a few minutes, I decided to test both things. The meat thermometer, after only a dozen uses, showed strange characters on the display when switched on and switched to the Celsius scale and then filled the display with strange letters. After playing around with the cover, I found that it was the cheap contacts that let it toggle on and off, which was a minor issue. I've come to the conclusion that it just doesn't work properly or is reliable. So when I bought another meat thermometer I decided to write a review while I was here. So an infrared thermometer. If he's reading 196 when he's pointing to a vigorously boiling pot of water, you can bet the advertisement for that product is exactly that. 16 degree error is not acceptable. Maybe leave it for a cat toy I think. But he definitely doesn't deserve to be in my kitchen.

Pros
  • BEST GIFT FOR THE FAMILY
Cons
  • Not as fat as the others
