I looked at over a dozen binoculars and monoculars before finally settling on this one. Judging by the price, size, reviews, and general features, I was sure I'd found a good product. Easy to use and feels good in the hand. Assembly: In general, the assembly appears to be of high quality. Based on the reviews I've read from other users, it holds up in the field and I'm not worried about just tossing it in my backpack and leaving it untouched. Price: fair. Enough to give an idea of a quality product but not too much to make it an unreasonable purchase for the average user. Usage: I bought this for myself to use in the field in wilderness firefighting operations. I'm trained to work with crews to control and fight the wildfires that are happening across the country. I wanted the best equipment for constant surveillance in the field. Knowing where the danger is is always one of the most important tasks in this type of work. Although I have not yet had the opportunity to use this scope in the field, I have high hopes for its usefulness. Edit: I've had some time playing around with it and seeing what it's capable of. While I still agree with my previous comments regarding the design and build, I was disappointed with its range. Although what I see is very clear, I cannot see very far clearly. I could see a car's number plate from 50 meters away, but that would be a guess. Still well made but not strong enough for what I really need.
