I've enjoyed collecting this stuff, and I'm no pro at things like that. I don't think it took me 4 hours but I forgot to check when I started. I would recommend using an exacto knife to get out some of the finer details. I saw a review about how difficult it was to get the watch and I actually experienced it, but I persevered and was able to snap the hour hand after a little push on the stem. Someone also commented on problems with the watch falling apart when trying to insert the battery and I found that the battery should be inserted positive side first, not negative side (as is often the case with most devices) . Once I figured that out, it was easy to put the battery in without having to push too hard or put too much pressure on the rest of the puzzle/clock. When I had everything together and the clock was ticking, I was able to hang it on the wall without any problems as the pieces fell off. I wouldn't recommend excessive handling of the watch after assembly, but with proper care I don't think there should be a problem if it falls apart. I was hoping that the day/date/month wheels would be automated somehow, but they are set manually and must be done carefully not to put too much pressure on other parts of the watch as the gears are turned.
