Tl; Dr: As a competitive cosplayer who has used almost every brand in the world, I now only trust Paradise and will use it either until I die or until Paradise goes out of production, whichever comes first. Used this for a big stage performance and I cried ugly when our friend's memorial was played and we were announced as one of the winners of a competition we entered (see selfie photo of me and my friend, look under mine. It was all damage cosmetics got from sobbing and wiping eyes with cheap paper towels!) Read full review + my personal application guide, that work very well with Paradise. Years. This is usually done in just two coats with a few dotted strokes here and there. And yes, that includes white and black, two colors notorious for being difficult to apply when it comes to cake makeup. It has a matte finish and is very comfortable to wear, with the occasional weird itch (if you have a lot of itching, you're either allergic or you've applied too thick a layer). For someone who has had to roll over regularly, 80% of their body turns blue asap, so I find it best to apply and seal in Paradise: 1) Using a pre-made sponge (smooth surfaced ones), dampen to the point , where it looks almost wet. You don't want water to drip out, but you want that some water is squeezed out. Work it into your makeup for a few seconds. Before applying, make sure to apply several coats of antiperspirant to sweat-prone areas. 2) Apply color to the skin with the same sponge. This will leave a streaky finish, but that will be corrected in a moment. Cover whatever you want to cover and use a hair dryer to dry faster and stay warm. 3) Dampen with a natural sponge and apply to the paint. You don't want the sponge so wet that water oozes out of it when it rings, but it should be wet enough to absorb the paint. When you've applied enough paint to it, apply strokes to all the stripes. Now your color will be more even : ) 4) Touch up as needed with a natural sponge and use eyeshadow for contouring and highlighting. I personally prefer to use a heavy hold hairspray to set my makeup and then a translucent setting powder to get rid of the stickiness. This works much better than the imo spray install. It doesn't matter what you use as long as it's decent and you apply your makeup with it. With this method I can dye 80% of myself any color I want in just 2 hours. It only seems to work really well with Paradise. Other brands don't really like this method and take ages to apply as they are more like clay than pressed powder like Paradise. Paradise also holds up much better than other brands. If your skin is not sensitive, you can use alcohol instead of water to increase drying time and reduce the risk of makeup fading. PLEASE, only use water on your face. It doesn't matter what you use as long as it's decent and you apply your makeup with it.
