Review on Dell MDS14 Monitor Stand - Adjustable Height, 5TPP7, 1920X1200 by Brandon Peters

Great accessory for desktop touch screens.

I just set it up for a 27 inch Dell touchscreen monitor. In general, I like the stand. It goes well with my table. At first I was concerned that it was impossible to move my arm without a monitor attached to it. Don't worry, it works great when it has a monitor. It took me about 2 hours to set it up. The instructions are meaningless. It doesn't say where to tighten and loosen to make adjustments. The worst part was, as soon as I put the monitor on the stand, it kept losing its tilt. It took me a while to find the screw (hint, it's just behind the connector plate on the bracket itself). small for a screw. I had to go to my tool box to get one that would move it. I also had to overtighten it to keep it tilted. Also, if you get a 27-inch touchscreen from Dell, you'll need to use the included Vesa plate. And the thumbscrew holding the plate and arm snugly to the monitor was either mismatched or the wrong size. I ended up using one of the other screws to install it. You should just drop the thumbscrew and give us an extra flat or Phillips screw as you can't insert it until you have the monitor on the stand. All of this is a great stand. It doesn't take up as much space behind the monitor as I thought it would. It's fairly flexible and moves easily enough without allowing for accidental movement. The only complaint I have when using it is that the touchscreen shakes a bit when in use, but not by much. What I really like is how easy it is to pull the monitor towards me when I want to use it as a touchscreen and pull it back when I want to use the monitor with a mouse and keyboard. This is a great accessory that anyone with a touchscreen should have.

Pros
  • ‎MDS14A
Cons
  • Screen burn-in: This occurs when a static image is displayed on the monitor for too long and continually burns into the screen.
