You get what you pay for. The plates are deep enough for my taste. Everything else works great. There is no temperature control. You just plug it in and it turns on by itself. Same when you're ready to switch off. You just turn everything off. Easy to clean and compact enough to carry anywhere. It has a red and green light that shows when your waffles are ready.
