Great product but the price is outrageous.

I don't know how to use plastic wrap or anything that comes off a roll. Maybe that makes me the perfect person to write a report on! This is a heavy roll of 323 square feet of plastic film. As with any roll, start by hammering in the end tabs that hold the roll securely in the box. I'm probably the exception, but I didn't realize for years that that was the purpose of these tabs. It definitely helps keep the plastic wrap in the box as you pull it from the roll. But first I had to pick it up off the floor as I hadn't secured it from the start and it fell out of the box. Then the cutting bar fell out. I didn't know it was part of that. Works faster than a whistle. Install it on the side of the box, it has an adhesive strip that sticks firmly to the box. When the adhesive backing is pulled out, place it on top of the strip and run the zipper cutter over it. It does a great job of slicing smoothly without stretching the plastic, tearing it crookedly, or throwing the entire roll onto the counter or floor. And he's holding on very tight. I covered the vegetables on a platter to take to the meeting. They didn't budge and I actually had to pry to get them off the glass bowl. I've used it on a few containers and it has a strong hold on everything. It does a good job. I still ended up with a big crumpled mess trying to work with plastic wrap, but my husband just rolls his eyes and reaches over and pulls out a completely cotton-free straight section and drapes it over it. Court. It's also compostable, so not all of my mistakes should end up in the trash, or in this case, the compost heap. What I don't like about this product is the price. I get 300 sqm. yards of a competitor's plastic wrap for less than $5, so I'm wondering why this wrap is so expensive. Sure it can be composted, but does that mean it costs $20 more? As much as I love this cling film, I think I'll probably throw it out and go for a cheaper one. My performance grade for the product would be 5, but the price doesn't justify the effort.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
