It only took me two months to figure out: Contact Creative Home for replacement cables. You can get 4 for a dollar. I bought this through Walmart and the final seller was Wayfair. For some people, the wires on these marble cheese slicers last longer due to the gentler use. As for me, I've cut a lot of cheese from big blocks of cheese, so the wire didn't last more than a month. I ordered replacement cables from Amazon and they didn't fit. To see the ones I've bought, look for Replacement Wires for Compact Cheese Marbling Slicer (Green or White) - Set of 4. They precede #GCS & #WMCS and are too long. I then contacted Wayfair and they couldn't find a replacement cable. Wayfair recommended Cheese Slicing Dot com, so I ordered wires they call the CW-CMPCT, which are designed for 5" chopping boards and are just under 5.75" from the top of one loop to the top of the other. Unfortunately this is the exact same product in the same packaging that I previously purchased from Revain. I then asked Cheese Slicing dot com what to try and they recommended their CW NP349R wires. This type of wire didn't work either, as it was too short and the small thick loops at the ends of the wire still didn't fit into the cutter's groove. After finally deciding to contact Creative Home directly, I resolved this issue. I spent two months wondering what the heck was wrong with that cutting wire. I'll probably buy a board with a blade anyway, since I cut a lot of mozzarella and wires with hard cheese supposedly fit better. I haven't had any structural issues (cracks, breaks, falling apart) with what I bought, but again I haven't used it too much. I saw many complaints about this when investigating the cable issue.
