Review on πŸ’‘ Daylight Non-Dimmable equivalent LED Bulb by Great Eagle by Brian Crockett

Revainrating 3 out of 5

These bulbs are HOT and flammable. CAUTION

LED bulbs get very hot. Bought them for a house in South Florida. One of the underappreciated benefits of LEDs is that they generate far less heat than incandescent or fluorescent lights. In a climate where we use alternating current all the time, this is a real advantage for LEDs. These 100-watt Great Eagle lightbulbs heat up as soon as you turn them on. By "hot" I mean too hot to touch the base of the lamp, I mean hotter than 9W A19 spiral fluorescent lamps. Too hot to touch - you have to turn off the light and wait before you can unscrew the bulb. I installed these bulbs in uncovered fixtures in a location where the lights don't come on very often. I would be concerned that the bulbs might catch fire if they are in fixtures that are left on for a long time. Especially if the bulbs were in a closed lamp. If you read these reviews, although most of the reviews are positive, there are some other reviews reporting excessive heat on these bulbs, even a picture of a bulb catching fire due to the heat. In terms of color temperature, they appear a bit colder. than 5000K. My wife said they looked like white lights in a clinic (she's a nurse, I'm a doctor) and she didn't like it. I brought the lightbulbs into my office, where I appreciate bright light and don't care about color. They are very bright. When they arrived all 6 bulbs in the box were "mixed", poorly packaged (which is never good with electronics). I will not buy again.
