At first I wasn't sure how to get the remote to work instead of the 3-speed fan controller, but after some research I found that I just need to cut the wires on the 3-speed capacitor and remove it completely along with the tension thread speed switch. I then connected the black wire going to the speed control capacitor to the gray wire coming out of it. There is a smaller starting capacitor that you must leave in place. The light control switch also needs to be removed, and the wire that goes there was connected directly to the light. The labels on the controller cables will explain the rest.
