Foam insole falls apart

When we got the shoes, my son was thrilled. He felt comfortable and liked the style. After the first day, however, he said all of his socks were covered in a "white substance." The foam sole padding was so cheap that it started to disintegrate and fall apart after just a few hours of wear. I convinced him to wear them one more time or two but at the moment he refuses to put them on because the pillow had fallen off and crumpled. Unfortunately I missed my return window. I would not recommend these shoes even though they look good!

Pros
  • COMFORTABLE INSIDE: Boys' and girls' lace-up sneakers need a padded collar around the ankle to support and protect the growing feet of school-age kids. Younger feet can get very hot and sweaty during exercise, so we lined them with mesh to get air where it's needed.
Cons
  • Brief instructions
