Let me start by saying that I don't use it to vacuum hair, but I use it attached to a blower that I use to dry my dogs as a brush to make drying easier . I use an upside down shop vacuum and it's noisy, but that makes it worse, I'm not going to lie. The bristles are stiffer rubber than I expected, which is what I needed to get the curly layer on one of my doodles. I had to cut a PVC pipe to use as an adapter, but I also use a different hose than the one that comes with the vacuum. Without the increase in noise (which I should have expected) it would be perfect.
