Review on TDK 16X DVD+R Bulk Pack of 100 Discs in Spindle for Enhanced SEO by Toby Galbraith

These are Imation discs (not TDK) and many of them are obviously defective

I bought 2 spindles a few weeks apart. I bought the 2nd spindle when I was halfway through the 1st - everything looked fine. But then, about 60% of the way into the spindle, I started to find obviously defective discs - roughness on the transcoding side (like spilling glue on the rim of the spindle) that sometimes actually went into the transcoding zone - a problem when you plan to burn a lot of data to a hard drive and you need an area close to the outer edge of the hard drive. I've been able to use many drives and they seem to work fine, but you should check each drive in bright light to make sure it's okay before using it. Also on the second spindle, some discs are unevenly coated with what appears to be a scratch that runs in straight lines from the center of the disc to the edge, but these are not scratches, just uncovered "lines". I haven't used these faulty discs, but I'm pretty sure this would be a problem as it would affect most of the writable area, not just the outside like the 'bad edge' problem. Also note that this is just the "TDK" name - the disc is actually made by Imation Corp. manufactured. (it's in the fine print on the box) - I haven't had good experiences with Imation drives on my PC in the past either - they're a bit poor quality, as are these " TDK drives. So here's TDK making money 'cause it uses their name, and Imation makes money, because even if you don't get discs from Imation Corp they!), and you pay for one thing (TDK) and get another (Imation). They should be Imation branded - if you don't care if it's TDK or Imation, buy them anyway - the price is low.But if you care and would buy TDK and not Imation, then both companies will benefit from your deception!
