I took the original photos out of the box but decided not to look at the item until I have used it. I will not be uploading any more pictures as this is now a toy for my 5 year old and it would not be fair for this review in the state it is currently in. Welcome! We could finally use this in Texas for the dark winter we just got through. We lost internet, cellphone, electricity and water. Pulled out for weather updates, flashlight and charging our phones for emergencies/other updates. Broadcasting weather and radio in general: shit. Barely got a signal. When we turned on the HBS, there was so much interference that we could barely hear anything. I don't want to waste my battery listening to the radio but FM was fine until a true power outage emergency happened. Although a pretty decent amount. The knobs are tiny to grip, but for us they turn smoothly. Flashlights: Both flashlights worked very well when navigating in the dark. Very convenient and was our main source due to the possibility of manual charging. Unfortunately we weren't as prepared as we should have been. A solar panel simply needs natural light. I put it on the window and it charges without direct sunlight. You don't even have to lift the plate. I literally sit there and forget. Alarm Clock: Works as intended. The range is average. I have never used batteries to know how much they discharge or not. Crank: Painful. The handle at the end is so short that we scratched the handle while spinning. You may need to crank 3 minutes and at a certain speed to charge your phone. I was shocked because it charged well right out of the box as I just admired the device before putting it away for a minute when we actually needed it. I kept turning it on while we drove to get everything we needed and it just wasn't storing the power to charge phones. We ended up getting 2 phones up to 10% off and the handle broke in the process. It took so much energy, constant vigorous twisting and finger snapping that we had to take turns - it's just not practical in a serious situation where you might need to conserve your energy. It was a fun competition to pass the time by seeing who could last long enough to get charged. Compactness. Fairly easy. Excellent flashlights. Decent alarm clock. ok radio Ideal for camping. Shit for a real emergency/survival situation. That doesn't fit in my survival bag.
