My husband bought this reader to scan serial number barcodes on cell phones for our company. He only gave it 3 stars because you have to hold it in a certain way and when he says long distance it means it doesn't work that well at close range, in other words he didn't know it was only long range means. He says he wouldn't buy it again because of this, you have to hold it exactly 6-8 inches from the barcode, which is a problem when trying to scan a lot of barcodes quickly.
