I never write reviews but this requires a **PSA** for this product. I have 2 6 month old kittens that I bought these collars for so they can be distinguished from one another. I read all the reviews carefully and found that some have the collar getting stuck in the jaw. A couple of times one of my girls managed to pull the collar up and over her lower jaw to get to the bell but it wasn't tight enough to get stuck and I adjusted the collar for a tighter fight to get around to avoid this. They wear them for a month and tolerate them well. Collars are very cute, but a DEFINITE safety hazard. Somehow one of them got stuck in the jaw, I mean LOCKED. I was so scared that she would choke, choke or dislocate her jaw and the more she struggled with that the worse it got. I've struggled with this for ages, tried to unzip it, yanked it off and it won't come off. She somehow slipped off him during the fight, but he was still held with such force that a tooth was pulled out of her. Which shows how lacking the tear-off feature is, as you'd think it would work as intended with such a force. So scared and my poor child. Thank god it's not worse. *** Remember, you CANNOT rely on Breakaway in an emergency. *** Of course, nothing is perfect and we should keep them in mind for most things, but we just want others to not feel a false sense of security in the outlier feature. Luckily I work from home, who knows what else I might come home with. Take care!
