4 stars because it's a great stool for those of us who are on a budget. The price is pretty low - $20 for such a tall stool - and the quality is about right for the price. I have no doubts about the durability. It is beautiful and exactly as described. Please note this stool is NOT ANSI certified and if safety is really an issue then avoid this stool. This particular folding stool does not open and tends to stay folded. If you are careful when opening, it will be completely safe after opening correctly. Do not buy this for an elderly person. It's great for occasional use and makes a great plant stand too. I use mine to elevate my iPad on my bedside table in the evenings, so its weak specs don't really bother me. For me only the price and the amount counts.
