I have many "wireless" IP cameras, but so far they have required power. While connecting to power is certainly easier than an Ethernet cable, there are places where this is still not possible or certainly unsightly. One such place is the fence on my property. This is the perfect spot for the camera as it can see the back of my house, but the length of the fence makes it almost impossible to connect power to it. Thanks to the pan and tilt function, I can move the camera remotely if necessary to observe the garden. Since I have other Ctronics cameras that perform well, I decided to give this one a try. This is a well built and massive unit. I charged the batteries with a standard 2 amp USB charger prior to installation. This initial charge took almost a full day with the camera on. I also installed a 16GB SD card which I formatted in the camera. The Ctronics software was easy to install on my Android phone and with the Wi-Fi option, setup was easy. Alerts are also easily customizable. Finally, the picture quality, especially in the HD setting, is very good. The picture remains clear and detailed even at night. It's also great to turn on a bright white light at night when you get an alert. This alone deters any intruder.
