I've been paying for the cloud service for a few years now which gets very expensive at 7.99 per month for each of my 2 cameras. This NVR works better than the cloud service I use and I can store my recordings longer. It doesn't come with a hard drive installed, but installation is very simple. Bought a WD Purple 6TB, everything works great. The only tricky part for me was routing the Ethernet cables to connect and the camera lines, but that's not the NVR's fault, just the placement of my cameras. So it costs a bit more to get started, but if you plan on using multiple cameras for a long period of time I would definitely recommend this NVR.
