I needed 42 to accommodate four dressers in our large bedroom and I wanted them to have a mid-century feel to them to update my Ikea furniture. I definitely needed the extras because these are easily stripped if you tighten too far. I got better at figuring out when to stop, but many of them turn out of position with the slightest movement. This is particularly common when the pets rub up against the dressers--about once a week I need to go around and even them out. It's a pain, but less painful than $500 to an already expensive bedroom redo.
