I purchased two of these. One was faulty. I am not a computer neophyte. That is, I checked both of my received cables on several display terminals. One worked on all; the other worked on none. I remember when Bell Laboratories established standards on hardware and software it produced as part of AT&T. Failure rates in delivered product could not be greater than 0.01 percent in most categories. In many others it was even more demanding (0.001 percent). It seems that the culture now accepts about 50% failure rates for these types of relatively low cost electronic products. As a side note, I bought another pair from a different company. One worked and one did not. So ultimately I got what I needed. two working cables. A depressing trend.
