Surprise when opening Material

Used to repair the paneling of a caravan. Here's what surprised me: When I opened the package, there were no instructions on how to use the tape. Also, the 14-foot polyethylene material appeared to be three pieces sewn together—it wasn't one piece, and one of the taped seams had already expanded 50%. Luckily I didn't need that much. The material appeared to be hand/eye cut and the edge weaved back and forth over a 4 foot width. I installed it according to the comments online and it looks and feels solid, which of course is the end goal. I'm going on a long drive in a few weeks and when I come back I'll report on the results after hitting the freeway with a tri-state trailer. A tiny print on the label of a piece of furniture said "Flex-mend". Nothing else indicated it was a Flex-Mend brand - I can't understand why a legitimate company CANNOT use their name on the entire product, but time will tell. UPDATE: After installing it I did a 12 day trip of about 800 miles. over three states. My maximum cruising speed is 65 km/h. The patch held up well for the first 11 days. The last day was the last 150 miles of foggy rain. When I got home, the stain had spread the full width of the trailer. The tape didn't hold. It was a terrible disappointment and I would not recommend this item. Body repairs seem to be something of a state secret for RV manufacturers and repairers, but the forums have given some hope. This kit is not part of it. Such is Gorilla Tape (although it's a great product, it won't last forever). There is a solution, but that's a topic for another day. Final word: This is not a product that will permanently repair the underside of an RV. Keep shopping.
