Review on πŸ”Œ Sanwa EM7000 FET Tester - Genuine Analog Multimeter by Sanwa by John Hashman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect fit, well made, larger than shown. Electrical zero function,

I don't see anything I don't like about it other than that it comes with no case or alligator clips. This is not a breach of the terms of the contract. This gauge is superior to anything on the market including vintage American gauges. I've tried four American made vintage counters and they've all been turned to junk due to mishandling and neglect. America doesn't produce anything like Sanwa, otherwise I would have bought it long ago. Japanese electronics have improved 1000 times since the 1960s. It doesn't require weird batteries that are expensive and hard to come by. Just an everyday AA battery and a 9V battery. I'm glad I was able to add this FET meter to my collection. I use them all for different purposes as well as comparing measurements in ohms and different voltages. Digital multimeters are essential and have their place, but a good analog meter will always have a place in electronics, as will an oscilloscope. I have several American made tube gauges that can't be beat. They're not wearable, which isn't a big deal for me since I keep everything on the bench. If you're looking for a portable, well-made and reliable meter, then you've come to the right place.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Minor issues
