Hopper Go in mint condition

I was so happy to receive the Hopper Go after realizing it was out of stock and ordering it back. Well, I had no idea the good folks at Dish Network needed a hopper with sling (not a sling adapter like I bought) DVR or Hopper 3. I called to see if I could trade my current DVR for a hopper with a sling and they would give me credit for a sling adapter I bought for Dish Anywhere. I was told they could come out for $64.xx and replace my DVR with a hopper with a sling, or for $150 they could replace it with a cute hopper 3 with 16 tunes. Very cool, but I was not asked what device I want , and I received without a bunker with a slingshot. Also the slingbox I already had didn't work with the new dish gear. It's not very good, IMHO. First I got a tailgaiter for my RV. I'm going camping and some places have no signal. I thought how nice it would be to have a Hopper Go! Well, in theory it's nice and great since Sling needs to be streamed. I am disgusted with how many vendors have their own proprietary and incompatible (by design) obsolete devices. Buyers be warned. Try to get as much information as possible before you spend any money. I'm thinking about returning the Hopper Go but I've waited a long time to get it thinking all I need is the Hopper Go. I connected the Hopper Go which is in perfect working order and shortly after a message appeared on the screen saying your hardware (____) is not compatible with the Hopper Go. What a pity. I will listen or call back anyone who knows how to get this working on my current hardware, I would appreciate it. My gear is called the Hopper 2000 (a duo - I don't remember being asked which device I wanted earlier this year) and I have a sling adapter that works great for Dish Anywhere, but I don't always have cellular or Wi-Fi for streaming on the go. That's why I wanted Hopper GO. Sigh. It's not the seller's fault but I wish there was a checklist when buying these things on what kind of gear you have before buying something incompatible without buying anything else. This is all too typical of all competing vendors and their desire to upsell and charge more people.

Pros
  • Creates your own private wireless cloud to support up to five tablets and smartphones via the DISH Anywhere app; no internet connection required
Cons
  • Update Availability

Seems to work OK, stored lots of movies on it but haven't taken it on a trip yet.
