I was skeptical about these things, they look so big. I needed to buy a 3/4 inch hole saw and it was sold out. Very easy to assemble, drill a hole, fold over the levers and hold, gently, I mean push gently. Pull out the rod and screw it in. You'll feel like it's not doing anything, and then suddenly it'll grab and hold and puff. Be prepared for this as you want it to be a tight fit but not where it bangs through the wall plate. It stays flush and tight. Much, much better than the expanding walls most people use.
