Not for beginners. There are some good tutorials out there, but the ABSOLUTE beginner needs at least a drawing class before picking up this book. Preferably two. There is also too much information about tools in the intro. A total beginner only needs paper, a pencil and freehand drawing instructions. circles, lines, squares. Cubes, Cylinders, Pyramids. then an object with a step-by-step guide. This book skips sooo many steps! My husband wants to learn to draw and I bought this book because I trust the title. Never again! Read reviews! He can't get more out of this book than he can explain particle physics. And I will not be his teacher. That's a bad deal for the wife! Now I will read the reviews.
