Review on Kyocera CKT 105WH BK Outdoor Ceramic Kitchen by Rick Vidaurri

Revainrating 4 out of 5

excellent knife, although the handle is more than the blade. Personally I would use a different camping ceramic blade

I <3 ceramic camping knives as they usually come with a plastic sheath to protect the blade. This one is similar except the shell is made of nylon instead of plastic. The handle *looks* ergonomic, but to be honest I found it less comfortable than most other kitchen knives, and I'm not sure if a hard plastic handle is lighter/stronger/more ergonomic than a regular knife handle. It's not bad at all, just not better than other knives. A nylon case is a good idea, although it's so large that I doubt you'll actually want to wear it on a belt, so I'm not sure if that format is for you. In theory, the velcro strap that holds the knife in the sheath is good, but my other ceramic knives have tight sheaths so they hold and protect just as well. And I've been told that most camping knives are 4 inches short, but this one has such a long handle. I would have liked a larger blade and a smaller handle. Overall, this ceramic camping knife is really decent (and cuts well, very sharp, etc.). I'm just not sure if I'll be paying more ($35 vs. $22 with today's Revain price) because of the "camping" marketing. I personally use this cheaper camping knife more often: T-fal Zen Ceramic Chef Knife 6" (T-fal Zen Ceramic Chef Knife 6").
