Still not lightning fast like today's machines, but I wasn't expecting it, I just wanted my old laptop to be comfortable and functional. Memory cards, a new hard drive, a new fan, and a dust-free heatsink put it in pretty premium condition. Memory cards fit perfectly and there don't seem to be any problems with them, but I immediately noticed that with both cards installed, Firefox and Explorer keep crashing. After a lot of trial and error I found the best solution was to put in one of the new 1GB cards and leave the other old 250MB card. With this setup everything works fine and there are no crashes. That way if I had to do it again I would just buy one card instead of replacing both. Although I wasn't aware of that at the time.
