Unfortunately, the device was not perfect immediately after purchase. This appears to be a manufacturing defect with friction lugs intended to hold the screen in place. They are not fully developed. In my application I was able to cut a very precise hole and it is very deep so it will hold, but in a shallower panel a defect can prevent it from holding. - It will not be difficult to deform, scratch or puncture. The interface and screen are beautiful. It is simple but intuitive to program. Overall I am disappointed with the quality but still happy with my purchase. Should the screen become damaged or start falling out I will revise my review. There are other cheaper battery monitors that are very similar and I will definitely give them credit. The only feature the cheaper models lacked was the ability to turn off the backlight (which by default blinks when charging).
