I don't use my iPad in portrait mode very often, mostly in landscape mode, so this additional feature didn't really appeal to me. What I really didn't like was the flexibility of the base. My iPad never felt secure in my lap. I also didn't like the extra magnet, which made opening less smooth than I would have liked. Last but not least, it wasn't ergonomic. It seemed that extra movements were required just to open it. A little worried.
