Light is brighter than expected. I use one in an outdoor covered gazebo and one in a shed. They give plenty of focused light on a desk of about 4 square feet and illuminate the rest of the 100+ square feet just enough to see the shelves etc. The button is at the top and is a bit awkward to reach with your finger. They have a hook so you can hang it where you need it. The wires from the solar panel to the light are quite long but very thin and will most likely break first. They're more functional and brighter than the similarly priced classic Eddie lights, which have a handy on/off chain, an attractive bulb, and appear to be a bit more durable. But I'd go with that lighter tube and hope the wires hold up.
