Light is brighter than expected. I use one in an outdoor covered gazebo and one in a shed. They give plenty of focused light on a desk of about 4 square feet and illuminate the rest of the 100+ square feet just enough to see the shelves etc. The button is at the top and is a bit awkward to reach with your finger.
