We bought e-bike front hub conversion kits to use in Burning Man almost 2 years ago. These kits have proven to be durable with no issues. Despite the rough sailing conditions we have continued to use this kit on our hang gliders at least once a week without any problems. We love her! We have received much more joy and benefit from bicycles than we can imagine. We were originally looking for something to easily explore Black Rock City so we could see more of the sights on our trip. This allowed us to visit new restaurants in our area and do fun things like look at the Christmas and Halloween lights while walking around the neighborhood. fun and relaxed! Like most people here, we started our bike projects by connecting 3 x 12v batteries in series. It worked fine, but the battery pack weighs about 40 pounds, and we're trying to reduce the overall weight of the bikes, adding extra accessories will make our rides more comfortable. We've considered adding a second battery or switching to lithium-ion batteries, but haven't decided yet. I spent about $100 on 3 12v 18ah batteries and hundreds more on lithium ion batteries. I have some decisions to make. Considering the overall cost this is an excellent kit that has proven to be of excellent quality. When I first bought it I could only rely on reviews because I knew absolutely nothing about electric bikes and have never owned one. overly concerned that someone will steal them. Of course, always use a bike lock! The weight of the batteries and hub combined is about 60 pounds, which adds a lot to the weight of the machine unless you know how to power it up and build a motor. Work. When your battery dies and you have to act without the help of a motor, it's difficult if you're not in good shape. You will definitely get a workout. We both ran out of battery at different times and we're just attracted to each other. The engine pulls extra weight with no problem. If you want to make a mod for your e-bike yourself, you should definitely think twice about it. Installation was easy and took about 2 hours total as I decided to make some adjustments to the position of the controller. My husband and I stored our bikes separately to ensure they were exactly how we wanted them. *** I have attached a photo of a front disc brake my husband installed for him at his local bike shop. A few people in the questions asked if we could add a disc brake and what it looks like, so here's what we bought, offered from a local bike shop that we know the owner of, and got a discount we didn't order from Revain. I've been considering ordering one from the same manufacturer as the hub and haven't added a drive to mine yet.****
