I was wanting to stud my Maxxis Minion Fat Bike tires and because of the price I went for the Marrkey version instead of the Grip Studs. Installing them in Maxxis was a problem. I've found that they fit into large lugs/lugs easier than small ones and definitely easier to launch into sipe grooves than blank blocks. I installed more in the front than in the back and pushed a few of the outer buttons. They were smaller and I found that if I start a small step in with a knife edge first, the lugs cut in better to start with. I inflated the tires to 18psi to mount them. After several rides in mixed conditions I haven't lost a single stud. The extra traction gives you a lot more confidence when driving in winter. I actually looked for icy spots on trails because they pedal easier and roll faster. I had 5 out of 200 deformed spots but only 3 unusable.
