I bought 2 chocolate brown boxes because I need to cover a large area (about 26ft long countertop). I only used one box. I have a little bit of everything left except 2s. I wiped off the glass to cover the last piece. 2c was thinner than the other colors and the sponge soaked it up more, but I think that was intentional as it created a veining/pooling effect that made it more realistic. It was pretty easy to use. I have absolutely no artistic skills, but I think it turned out well. Giani's website has tons of videos showing how to use the products for each set and what to do in the crease where the countertop meets the backsplash. I haven't found an eraser on a pencil that works for me. Instead, I used a small piece of sponge in my hand to apply each color to the crease. I ran a small brush over it to touch the crease. Having a fourth piece of sponge to blend everything together made it more realistic. What disappointed me the most about this kit is that it says you can only use dish soap and water to clean it...no other cleaning supplies. I plan on getting some polyurethane or some other top coat so it's more durable and I can clean it however I want. The instructions also say it takes 14 days for a full cure. Light units can be placed back on the counter after 3 days, while heavier ones are off the counter for 14 days. I'm still very glad I decided to do this, but I would have planned something better if I knew how long it would take to be fully usable.

  • Handy item
Cons
