I was skeptical about ordering this gasket but was very pleasantly surprised when I tried it. The 9" x 12" black Conda notebook contains 40 sheets in a spiral bound format. The sheets are made from 90lb hot-pressed, acid-free paper, so they have the weight of cardboard and a smooth, flat surface. As such, it's good for fine detail without noticeable bumps or texture. These properties make the paper suitable for opaque colored media such as crayons, pastels, gel pens and acrylic/oil based markers. I would not recommend using very damp media as it can cause the paper to curl. This is a quality pad for beginners and professional artists alike as it is reasonably priced and of relatively good quality. With all the latter in mind, I would definitely recommend it to other artists.
