Aha! Lesson learned. Read the description of this product more carefully than me. This is lead-free crystal clear glass, not lead-free crystal. We read what we want to see. When I opened the somewhat shabby box, my first impression was that the glasses are cute. I love the angles and lines of the design. My first er, however, was the glass frame. It looks more like a glass from a dollar store than the finely cut crystal I would choose to sip liquor with my love or business client. However, I use them on a dressing table to pluck a single small flower from my garden more than I originally intended. Again, I could wish for a better product. At first they are cute. I'm sure they are durable. They are not of the quality we expected. They might soon end up in the goodwill box if I can't find a suitable alternative use for them.
