Great product, terrible standard
Although this product worked exactly as intended, you weren't told that HDMI is a crappy standard and there isn't a consistent connection scheme. I studied as many diagrams as I could, but when I unraveled the cable I was trying to fix, there was an appropriate color scheme on NONE of the diagrams I saw, and unfortunately the cable manufacturer doesn't publish one. . So I have no idea if this product actually works, but I was able to put 20 tiny wires in the holes and wrap them all up. So if you have wires that match the diagrams I would give it a try. unless. buy a new cable.
