Review on πŸ”§ Dorman 917-107 Exhaust Manifold Repair Clamp: OE FIX for Select Models by Micheal Esquivel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

2005 Hummer H2 in parts

The manifold on the driver's side was found to have a broken bolt head (closest to the windshield) causing a ticking engine noise when starting. Due to the limited working space, it is very inconvenient to install this clamp. Started at the top and built a wire hanger to hold the yoke while blind screwing in the first top screw. I climbed up from the bottom of the carriage to insert the second screw into the yoke, then climbed back up to reach down and screw it in. The third clamping bolt was the simplest. Some people recommend removing the heat shield to make room, but I didn't find it necessary. After all the bolts were tightened, the engine started smoothly and smoothly. This clamp works great on a Hummer 6.0 engine by pressing the exhaust manifold into the head. Great product and highly recommended. Difficult to install, not because of the clamp but because of the limited space to install.

Pros
  • Quality assembly
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
