While I really wish this product could be used to transport my fresh sourdough bread, the plastic has a chemical odor that hasn't gone away in over a year! If the lid and base are briefly separated from each other, neither smells. But if you put them together and take them apart after a while, the smell will be as strong as before. It's like a chemical reaction between the base and the lid, which are made of different plastics. I know it's too late to ask for a refund, but with a product intended for food use, the company should have realized this before putting it up for sale.
