Cake Server by STERILITE, White, 1 pack Review

It's nice to have. It's made of nice, durable plastic, has a sturdy handle, and a large cake surface. Ideal for storing cakes on the kitchen table or storing groceries during a picnic to keep flies away. I used it to store a 9 inch two tier cake and it fits in with plenty of room. The lid closes tightly and there are no strong chemical smells that some plastics have. Please let me know if the review helped at all. Thanks very much !

This is a tall yet lightweight cake stand. I easily created a vinyl monogram for the outside that stuck perfectly the first time. Then I baked a two layer cake, put it on this server, put it on the floor of my car and drove 200 miles with no problems. The cake arrived in perfect condition and was so fresh it felt like I had just baked it. I will buy and give more.

I just threw away the first cake I kept on this cake stand. The container was thoroughly washed before I used it. I saved my cake and when I opened the container the next morning I smelled a strong chemical odor and the cake was soaked in it and ruined. I cannot recommend this product without a chemical gas eliminator that builds up when closed. I would not have expected that from a STERILITE product.

It's handy and extra large, fits into almost any cake. I put in a 9 inch two layer cake with a 10 inch cardboard bottom. The lid could still snap with the 10" board inside. I have also placed birthday candles on the top of the cake and the height of the dome on this cake server was able to accommodate them and still snap onto the bottom of the holder.

Holds a 9" cake with three tiers if the tiers are quite high. I was surprised. The base is much wider than the 9" but the top of the domed cap is tapered. If your base is wider than the 9" it needs to be under 3 levels. For example, a 10 inch cake would not be a problem. I wouldn't carry it by the handle - just common sense when working really hard on a baked creation. It's just plastic.

This cake server was amazing! It exceeded my expectations. I put a 41/2" tall 9" cake in it and got on a plane from Portland, Oregon with it. to Houston. We had a connecting flight and even drove through, not to mention TSA. The cake was in excellent condition when we arrived at our destination. Now I can do it more often. While I really wanted this product to carry my fresh homemade sourdough bread, unfortunately the plastic has a chemical smell that won't go away, even after over a year! Of the pluses - a very large carrier. I made a single layer sponge in a 9 inch pan and it looked tiny in this huge container. However, there are a few poor design choices that make me wish I'd paid a little more for a different medium. Baking cakes is just my hobby, I don't often bake cakes, just for friends or family. I didn't feel like buying a big stack of disposable boxes as I only bake cakes 2-3 times a year anyway.
