Review on πŸ”§ DEA A7238 Front Right Engine Torque Strut Mount: Superior Stability and Vibration Control by Matthew Thorndike

Revainrating 3 out of 5

2001 Camry 2.2L (Made in USA)

The welds on this item will be different from the original parts, but the end result will look the same. When I placed the pieces on top of each other, the ends were identical in size, position, and angles. The difference in welding worries me a bit as I assume Toyota designed the original part for maximum efficiency and durability. Not sure if this one will last 18 years like the original. I decided to go ahead and install the item rather than return it as the ends matched, the part was only $12 and I figured it should work at least as well. like a broken bracket currently on my car. Installation was quick and easy using just a 14mm socket and ratchet. The item fit perfectly. There is no need to look. All it takes is a few light taps with the palm of your hand. I've driven less than 100 miles since installing it, but it seems to be working fine. This got rid of the bumps under acceleration and deceleration, as well as the slight vibrations I experienced while idling. The packaging says MRC (Marmon Ride Control), the current name of DEA Products. Update: It's been pretty much exactly 30,000 miles since I installed this mount. . So far no problems.
