I use a Canon Speedlite 430EX II and am annoyed by the constant battery changes and flash failures when the batteries get hot. I have this flash and it has made my life so much easier. Pros: 1) Rechargeable Li-Ion battery 2) Insanely high number of flashes with this battery. I did a 4 hour event (not at full power) with about 400 shots and over half the battery remaining. 3) Faster charging time thanks to Li-ion battery. 4) Acts as a master flash that allows you to control external Godox/Flashpoint flashes. I have an AD200 and this feature has been very useful to me. 5) Lighting is usually great when reflected off the ceiling, no matter what flash you use. What is special about this flash is that it produces a soft and even light when you are directly lighting subjects compared to other flashes. I did this even when the ceiling is quite high and I can definitely see the difference in my subjects' faces. Cons: 1) If you plan on using this as an off-camera flash and you have an existing S-type Bowens mount, the round shape of the head will not allow this flash to fit in. 2) If you have a set of gels/diffusers for existing flashes, these will not work with them either due to the round head. If you are planning to use them, Godox V860II might be the best option for you. Or you can buy the Godox AK-R1 kit, which includes many accessories that can be used with the V1 flash.
