Amazing flash and it works when I need it to work but I don't like HSS

If I have this flash and actually use it in the field I can say its a great flash. My old Canon series flash had burned out and I didn't want to spend $500-600 to replace it with a new one. This flash is amazing. It's powerful, versatile and lightweight. I also love that it supports Profoto accessories like they were made for it and that I can use it consistently with my AD600pro. However, I am not a supporter of the fact that the maximum active power is at 1/1000 sec. The exposure is 1/16 when

Great conditioner though. for camera and photo

I want to love this flash. All of my work involves off-camera flash and I've found it to go great with my gear. But there are a few things that keep me from giving five stars. The big minus is the attachment of a remote trigger to the flashlight. The box has a 2.5mm input (standard 3.5mm) which isn't a big deal but I had to order an adapter to use it remotely. Why not get it right the first time? I love the extra power over my standard lights, but I had to buy a Godox holder to use any of my…

Bought broken flash 02/2020

I bought this product for my wife who is a photographer, February 2020. She has hardly used this flash this year due to Covid so the flash has been for over 4 months in the box. Last weekend she put the flash on the camera as usual and when she tried to remove it to fit the case the flash got stuck on her Canon 5D Mark IV. She took it to the only authorized camera repair shop in San Diego, California, Kurtz Camera, and was told the flash was stuck in the camera's shoe and they could not…

Overheats at higher power but excellent light quality

This is a great alternative to the Profoto A1. Build quality is clearly not as good as the Profoto A1, but I'm not complaining about the cost. The V1's light quality seems to be on par with the Profotos, but I've already sold the A1 so I couldn't do a direct comparison. My only criticism of the V1 is that it doesn't charge as fast as the A1 and will overheat and have to wait 5-10 seconds to fire again. I don't explode and only shoot portraits so I missed the A1 when that happened. However…

I love LED light!

My favorite feature is the LED light! One problem though is that it's slightly off-centre, but you can unscrew the metal ring from the head and move the LED board to the side a bit to center it. I have 3 of these flashes and all the LEDs are off center to varying degrees. Why should I care? Well I want to use it for video recording and photography. Why not just mount an external LED on the camera? This switches off shortly before the picture is taken and is therefore perfect as an AF auxiliary…

Very happy with my purchase.

I use a Canon Speedlite 430EX II and am annoyed by the constant battery changes and flash failures when the batteries get hot. I have this flash and it has made my life so much easier. Pros: 1) Rechargeable Li-Ion battery 2) Insanely high number of flashes with this battery. I did a 4 hour event (not at full power) with about 400 shots and over half the battery remaining. 3) Faster charging time thanks to Li-ion battery. 4) Acts as a master flash that allows you to control external…

  • boring packaging

It took me years, 1000 photo booths and hundreds of weddings and moving from Guam to California to pull the trigger on this device and I wish I had done it sooner. Scott Kelby's book got me wanting to get a flash off my camera. As a Canon shooter I've used 6ft ETTL extension cords, I've dabbled with the 430EX, 580EX and IR strobe but line of sight made anything outside impossible. Hundreds of Eneloops. Eventually I switched to brand new flashes when my canons blew out. Eventually I switched to…
