I want to love this flash. All of my work involves off-camera flash and I've found it to go great with my gear. But there are a few things that keep me from giving five stars. This is a great alternative to the Profoto A1. Build quality is clearly not as good as the Profoto A1, but I'm not complaining about the cost. The V1's light quality seems to be on par with the Profotos, but I've already sold the A1 so I couldn't do a direct comparison. My favorite feature is the LED light! One problem though is that it's slightly off-centre, but you can unscrew the metal ring from the head and move the LED board to the side a bit to center it. I use a Canon Speedlite 430EX II and am annoyed by the constant battery changes and flash failures when the batteries get hot. I have this flash and it has made my life so much easier. Pros: 1) Rechargeable Li-Ion battery 2) Insanely high number of flashes with this battery.
