This is a great alternative to the Profoto A1. Build quality is clearly not as good as the Profoto A1, but I'm not complaining about the cost. The V1's light quality seems to be on par with the Profotos, but I've already sold the A1 so I couldn't do a direct comparison. My only criticism of the V1 is that it doesn't charge as fast as the A1 and will overheat and have to wait 5-10 seconds to fire again. I don't explode and only shoot portraits so I missed the A1 when that happened. However, given the price, I'll learn to deal with it. FYI, I was shooting between 1/4 and 1/1 early morning when it was relatively chilly so I'm not sure if anyone else had overheating issues. Overall not a bad buy.
