Given the risk of bacteria growing in bath toys, their design is meaningless. The kettle has a series of small holes at the top for water to enter and there was a small bead on the inside that makes it rattle so you can pour the water out. But there's absolutely no way to clean the inside of this thing well. Also, as other people have pointed out, the teacups themselves have holes so they don't even hold water for a child to scoop. Small plastic cupcakes have a single hole at the top to keep mold water inside. I would never recommend this purchase.
