One of my cars has a battery in the trunk, the other has a battery under the hood and luggage racks that are difficult to access. I used links used for basic machine jumping on both machines. They are connected directly to the batteries and are also used to charge the batteries. They will most likely give you incorrect battery replacement readings! THIS TESTER MUST BE CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE BATTERIES! I learned this the hard way after buying a new battery for a car as it was older. Installed a new battery then decided to test the old one again before returning to the store for a core charge refund. This tester showed that the battery is in perfect condition! I then took the other battery, which was said to be bad, to a parts store and it was fine too! This tester must be connected to the battery terminals and not to any other place used for charging or jumping! You should include it in the description. I hope this helps someone who doesn't make the same mistake I did.
